A beautiful, tranquil location next to the river

This is a simple, yet beautiful home in the most stunning location. There are many types of butterflies, birds, lizards and other types of wildlife in the area and you can spend hours just watching the days go by. My husband and I spent four of the most peaceful months here. The river next to the house is amazing and is almost the only sound that you will hear. The property is near the lovely town of La Suiza where you will find everything you need to help make your stay enjoyable. The administrators, Joaquin and Flora are the most amazing people, very warm and welcoming and very helpful. The owner of the property is very knowledgable about the area and Costa Rica and is never more than an email away. We loved our stay so much, that we both shed a tear when we had to leave. We have already booked our next stay for his wonderful place.

The cabin was clean and the kitchen well equipped. Meeting local La Suiza family was an enjoyable experience and Joaquin provided local information and humor. We spotted a Tayra just outside the cabin one day feeding on fruit tree. My son enjoyed the river on one hot day. One suggestion may be to set up a bird feeder to attract native birds to farm. The peace and tranquility was the overall highlight. For the nature lover the cabin is a 9/10.. Thanks again for the opportunity at Colibri Cabin and best wishes,

A little piece of heaven
The first week we spent in Costa Rica was at this Cottage. We loved to be outside on the deck. It is a very quiet location and the kids were able to play in the brook by themselves. The pictures show the Cottage exactly the way it is. There are not a lot of tourists in the area, what we really enjoyed. It is a good idea to have a 4×4 in Costa Rica. This is definitely a good spot to go if you want to relax and enjoy a simple way of living! We are looking forward to come back in the future.

I spent two weeks at Finca Pura Vida in February 2013. It is a magic place – ideal for getting away from hectic every day life. Finca Pura Vida is very peaceful and quiet, the surroundings are beautiful and there is a lot to explore on the grounds of the Finca and in the vicinity. Karl is very welcoming and most helpful. The house is simply furnished but contains everything you need for a pleasant stay. We most enjoyed the huge roofed terrace and the occasional bath in the river. In the little village nearby, La Suiza, there are three small supermarkets, a fruit and vegetable store, a butcher and – last but not least – a very friendly place to drink and eat, Pocho’s Bar. Even if you do not speak Spanish (I don’t, unfortunately), you will have no problem getting around.I can recommend Finca Pura Vida to anyone who is looking for an peace and quiet and authentic Costa Rican lifestyle.
